Happy October!

It’s time to break out the hot cocoa, the warm sweaters, and – most importantly – the ghost stories! It’s time to pull out the Stephen King, H. P. Lovecraft, and Edgar Allan Poe stories we love! J Here are a few of my favorite October reads!

 Dracula

Dracula-Bram Stoker

Love this book! I’ve read it about four or five times now. From the first chapter, I was enchanted. Read this for when you want a non-sparkly vampire. 😉

The Stand

The Stand by Stephen King

If you have lots of free time, tackle this 1500 page whopper by Stephen King. If you don’t have time, find time. I promise, you will not be able to put it down. This story begins with a virus leaking from a top-secret government facility, eliminating almost all of humanity. It only gets worse (and creepier) from there… Read with a can of Lysol nearby to disinfect any sneezing friends.

The Forest of Hands and Teeth (The Forest of Hands and Teeth, #1)

Forest of Hands and Teeth by Carrie Ryan

Imagine a dystopian future where the zombie virus has overrun the world, leaving the few unaffected humans stranded in a small fenced-in village. Read this one with the lights on! Bonus: this is the first in a series!
